Comments: The fifteenth (15th) equine case of West Nile Virus in California in 2026 was confirmed in Shasta County. On October 6, 2026, an unvaccinated 7-year-old Andalusian mare in Shasta County displaying neurologic signs was confirmed positive for West Nile Virus. The mare is alive and recovering.;
