Comments: The twelfth (12th) equine case of West Nile Virus in California in 2026 was confirmed in El Dorado County. On September 14, 2026, an unvaccinated 9-year-old Warmblood mare in El Dorado County displaying neurologic signs was confirmed positive for West Nile Virus. The mare is alive and recovering.;
