Number Exposed: Unknown;
Facility Type: Private Facility;
Comments: From 3/12-14/2024, horses on four separate private premises were placed under official quarantine by the Indiana State Board of Animal Health (BOAH) due to confirmation of EHV-1 in horses exhibiting neurologic signs. The breeds involved are Belgian, Dutch harness, and standardbred. The private facilities are in Elkhart, LaGrange, and Kosciusko counties. The affected horses range in age from 3 years to 12 years old. BOAH encourages horse owners to be mindful of biosecurity, especially for horses that travel away from their home premises and return, and for newly acquired horses.;
