Outbreak Update

Veterinary Teaching Hospital and State Department of Agriculture

Number Suspected: Unknown; 
Number Exposed: Unknown; 
Clinical Signs: Update on previously affected horses. Confirmation of diagnosis is still pending. However, horses continue to show signs of illness. Currently 9 horses are hospitalized at LSU with additional horses showing more mild clinical signs receiving care on the affected property. Investigation of the feed is ongoing and has been transferred to the FDA. We ask that veterinarians with suspected cases please continue to report cases to Dr. Johnathan Roberts ([email protected]) and Dr. Rose Baker ([email protected]).
