Gender: Mare; Breed: Standardbred; Onset of Clinical Signs: 12/5/2025; Clinical Signs: This mare developed a fever, became lethargic and anorexic prior to developing enlarged, firm submandibular lymph nodes which abscessed over the weekend (Dec 13/14). She tested positive for S. equi by PCR. She is not involved in the racing industry.; Horse Status: Recovering; 

Comments: The farm owner, working with their veterinarian, has instituted voluntary animal movement restrictions and biosecurity protocols.
