Gender: Mare; Breed: Standardbred; Onset of Clinical Signs: 2/23/2024; Clinical Signs: Two broodmares on a private farm developed signs of Strangles (fever, nasal discharge, enlarged lymph nodes) after comingling with horses from other farms. Samples were positive for S. equi by bacterial culture.; Confirmation Date: 2/27/2024; 

Comments: The owner is working with their veterinarian to control the outbreak.;
